Or how to make an X out of an R
After exactly 25 successful years it is not exactly the end of an era, rather of a pleasant development generates a logical consequence.
The “ARTelier” (please spell with an “R”) stood for the connection of the name “Reiss” with art (or the art of Martin Reiss?). Today, after 25 years so many varied and new things have come along that we found this coinage too narrow …
And since Rethink - to pause, to understand things anew, to see things differently, to turn them around and to them turn over, to take new risks – is still our central Motif, we didn’t just query everything but asked questions: of the future, of the past, of the process, but above all of ourselves. Again and again. And always anew. That was challenging, exciting and uncertain. And it led to new results. (And that was sometimes an art too.)
But first things first …
The ARTelier Reiss was founded in 1992 at the foot of the Donnersberg and was housed intermittently in Kirchheimbolanden in the Palatinate. But it was shaped most of all by our current domicile in Volxheim (spelt with an “X”please). The special spirit of this wine region, and life and work in the triangle of Rhine Hesse, Nahe and Palatinate, was not without its consequences. This means: the wine loomed large.
It first began in the mid-90s with market developments for large wine producers like Langguth, Racke or Zimmermann-Gräff-Müller. Very gradually we were pulled deeper and deeper into this world until we had arrived, spatially and spiritually, where wine is created. Amongst the vines and the vintners themselves.
It was the top-quality cooperatives, above all, who appreciated our expertise in matters of market development, corporate design and wine alike.
This pleasing development led in 2010 to the creation of our own “wine division” within ARTelier Reiss: here the cumulative wine competence of our team was concentrated because as Quantum X we concerned ourselves exclusively with developing discriminating and successful design and marketing concepts for similarly discriminating and high-performance clients in the wine field.
In the jubilee year of 2017 the time was right, to fuse ARTelier Reiss KG and the wine division of Quantum X into, as it were, Quantum X KG. Not least because, in a few years, and above all in the wine field, this name had established itself as a brand for comprehensive strategic marketing and successful design.
One of our customers once described working with Quantum X thus: “I do not believe that there are many agencies in the wine field with such a broad spectrum of service.”
